There is just nothing like
being live at the track to see a race. The excitement that surrounds a
NASCAR race is unbelievable! The atmosphere is so great...the fans
yelling, engines screaming, the smell of racing in the air, its sheer
heaven to a race fan.
I attended my first Winston Cup
race on April 21, 1996 at the Martinsville Speedway. That was a very
special race and experience that I will remember forever. Rusty started
5th and went on to win the race. Now to have your favorite driver win
your very first race is just so awesome. I was a very happy fan to say
the least, LOL.
I can still remember the
details. Rusty was right behind race leader, Jeff Gordon, and he made a
look underneath him going into the third turn as the fans came to their
feet with just 11 laps to go. Rusty got the lead and never looked back
until the checkered flag flew.
I was so excited and nervous
and you can be sure that I never sat down for those 11 laps. I was
cheering and screaming at the top of my lungs. I think I was
yelling and smiling a week after the race too, LOL.
The fans who have ever been to
a race know what I'm talking about when I say that being live at a race
is the greatest and for those fans who haven't been to a race yet...
its defiantly a MUST for any NASCAR fan and be prepared for the show of
your life!
